This week you can catch me at Google Campus #POCIT breakfast meeting before heading to Startup Grind Europe on June 14th.
I will be speaking on a panel discussion at Diversity in Tech, this Wednesday 25th June. Don’t forget to say hello if you do pop down and attend.
Last week I had an insightful conversation with a Corporate Firm on race & ethnicity in the workplace. One thing they found intriguing is when I told the story of when I went backpacking across South America in 2011. I said how many of my minority friends and colleagues said “it was not the BLACK” thing to do at the time. It turned out to be one of the best experiences of my life to date. Fortunately I fed my curiosity rather than accept what other were saying. Have you faced situations in the workplace where colleagues didn’t understand your culture and offended you or marginalised you?
