The illusion of money
Last week, I spoke to some first-time founders in a mastermind group I manage to remind them that money doesn’t bring you happiness. I personally believe happiness comes from quality human connections, whether that is laughing with friends, playing with your children or eating great food with your spouse.
These experiences are the memories we cherish and on our death bed, we won’t request for our smartphones, investment portfolios or work but rather to spend more time with our loved ones.
It is for this reason I urge you to be more present in the presence of loved ones. Let’s not prioritise work on top of them. At meetings at work, most of you are fully present, not on social media or scrolling through messages on your smartphone. Yet can you say the same at the dinner table at home? or on the couch with family?
Let’s be more intentional on the quality of the time with spend with loved ones as lockdown starts to ease.
Have a productive week.
PS. This is a longer issue than usual, apologies in advance for all the tabs this will cause you to open! 😃
