Happy New Year! 🎈🎊🎆 I spent a quiet week at home over the holidays, reading All Souls Trilogy (A Discovery of Witches) by Deborah Harkness. It features protagonists who time-travel back to Elizabethan England, which is one of my favorite historical periods, so I enjoyed the books very much.
I didn’t do any additional unpacking over the holidays because I needed the time to rest. I worked, instead, on self-care by watching old films and crocheting the sweater I’m working on. It looks like it’s going to be a bit large, but no matter: it’s cotton, warm, and very soft, so I’ll wear it anyway.
This morning I did my first baking in my new place: sourdough biscuits. Now the place not only feels safe, it smells like home.
I hope all of you are staying safe as we enter yet another year of the COVID-19 pandemic. Here are some of the things I’ve been reading the last couple weeks.
