It’s Valentine’s day so, don’t forget to show love today and always.

Though Valentine’s day is a Hallmark holiday strategically planned for you to pour more money into big corporations, transform it into something more meaningful than roses, cards and relationships.

As black people, it’s said that we spend more money than any other demographic though we aren’t the demographic with the most money to spend nor are we the largest demographic. It’s really important that we pour into our own community and support each other.

Try to show love this weekend and get creative! Love on yourself, express your love for others in a meaningful way, and, of course, don’t forget to give black creatives some love too! The Hallmark holiday IS in the middle of black history month after all.

In some of the current projects shared on the Ambient Willow website, you’ll notice some continuous line drawing characters with flowers growing out of them. “They are a symbol for staying in bloom even when the world doesn’t want you to.”

One of my favorite Ambient Willow projects right now is the “Make G̶o̶o̶d̶ Art” project. The idea of the ‘Make Art’ project is to “change the narrative of making ‘good’ art and just simply create what feels good and right to you as the creator.”
